"Fall Hike in West Virginia"
Fall is a beautiful time in West Virginia. The leaves turn to glorious colors. Hiking season is at its premium.
My husband and I have spent many weekends in the Monongahela National Forest, Canaan Valley, and the Dolly Sods Wilderness.
Here a a few images I made to capture the feeling of a fall hike in West Virginia.
This is the story of my sleepless nights.
As I get older, I sleep less and less.
While I lie awake in bed, my thoughts keep racing through my head.
My restless brain jumps from one thing to the next. I stress over work left undone and playtime yet to come, while I am nearing retirement. My mind just won’t quiet down and let me get back to sleep.
Many a night, I give up on sleep and get up. I know that my camera awaits and will take me through my sleepless rite.
Acknowledgment: I thank my husband, John B. Hughes, for his patience.
